Welcome to Regular Folks United, The Think Tank for Regular Folks!

Our mission at Regular Folks United is to nourish the yearning for individual liberty residing in the soul of every human being who has ever walked the face of the earth. We don't need advanced degrees or a pedigree or any other exalted status to understand liberty and know when it is being taken away from us.

Liberty is as essential to us as air, food and water, and those who would restrict it clearly have been taken aback by the overwhelming resistance their plans have met from the heartland, the dwelling place of Regular Folks.

The heartland isn't a geographical location but a place of time-honored values that harkens back to the intent of our Founding Fathers when they created this great nation. It is steeped in what conservative thinker Russell Kirk called "permanent things," those first principles which transcend generations and are as relevant in the 21st century as they were in the 1st.

The heartland is where faith, family, friends and country are revered and selflessness is a personal and voluntary act of love taken by individuals acting alone or collectively on behalf of their neighbors. The heartland is where government protects and serves the people rather than impose its will. The heartland is where we embrace the dignity and worth of every human being because they are God's creation and we are all precious in His sight. The heartland is where humility and service take precedence over arrogance and self-fulfillment.

This site is designed to give regular folks, the residents of the heartland, comfort, encouragement and knowledge, none of which they will receive from an elitist culture that ridicules them and holds them in contempt. We offer papers on first principles, book recommendations, and quotes of wisdom and humor from champions of liberty throughout the ages right up until the present day. We also host events where Regular Folks gather to gain wisdom, knowledge and strength in challenging times.

You may already be familiar with RegularFolksUnited.com, where regular folks participate in spirited and vigorous discussions on policies and current events. We offer this companion site, RegularFolksUnited.org, as a place to step back from current events for a moment and evaluate core principles and ideas relating to liberty. Please feel free to make content suggestions. Have you read any good books on liberty lately? Have you come across a great quote? Is there an issue you feel needs further explanation? Please pass your recommendations along to us.
